kick counts 3rd trimester

Are you keeping track of the amount of movement in a certain time period? Has your doctor told you to do this? If you are how are you do this/keeping track? I am just curious I am 29 weeks my doctor has not mentioned anything.

I'm 35 weeks and my dr never mentioned this either. I have gone for a NST and will every 2 weeks now, but other than that, i was not told or asked to do anything different or specific.

Re: kick counts 3rd trimester

The only reason to do a kick count is if you haven't felt the baby move like they regulary do. It is just important to recognize all movement... if you don't feel like the baby is moving enough, or at all, then do kick counts.

I haven't had to do this yet b/c the baby moves pretty reguluarly...tonight Chat Icon was rolling around like a maniac, therefore no need to count.

Re: kick counts 3rd trimester

my doctor told me to keep track of the frequency and the time of day of the kicks more than the actual number. She wanted to make sure the baby's movement didnt significantly decrease.

Just to let you know...I was keeping track of this and there was a day I hardly felt the baby move and got really worried since noramlly she moved all the time. I went in and they took a sono...they told me my fluid was a little low and to increase my water intake. So I'm glad I was keeping track.
