kind of nervous... how long after stopping BFing did you get AF? - updated

so i've been weaning for the past few weeks and we are down to 1-2 BM feedings per day.

for the past week or so i've been having AF cramps and feeling like i'm going to get it any minute - two nights ago i even had to take some tylenol.

but i still haven't gotten it.

i am starting to get a little nervous because there is a small but not insignificant chance that i could be pregnant... don't get me wrong, i would be happy, but it wouldn't have been planned and i would rather wait...

update: i finally got the guts to take a test - NEGATIVE.

thank you for all the responses, i feel a lot less worried because it seems very variable.

I was still BFing 5 times a day and got AF at 5.5 months. Maybe just for peace of mind go and get a test.

I got AF within a few (2-3) weeks of weaning to 2 feedings a day...I was on BCP from 6 weeks as well

i got AF the week after i stopped BF'ing and felt her coming during weaning

I BF for 5 months and still didn't get AF for another 3 months after I stopped.

I'm currently BF and have already had AF, so I"m no help.

It's different for every woman. I got AF 8 months to the day from when DS was born, and I was still nursing at least 8 times a day, in addition to solids.

Right after Thanksgiving I had a lot of what I thought were fertility signs for like a week (EWCM etc.), but AF took probably about a month and a half to show. It could also possibly be your body returning to fertility.

With DS I stopped BF at 5 weeks and didn't get my period until 12 weeks.

I stopped bf a week and few days ago(maybe) ago and just got my AF today

I had been slowing down bfing for about a month and last week officially stopped pumping. I get the cramping but still havent gotten either, im 6m pp. Im terrified i would get at work.. i wear white pants.

I was still EBF when I got my period back at 6 months PP. Some don't get it untill they totally stop. I'm sure you will get it soon!

I am EBF and got AF at 5 months pp. I haven't had a regular cycle yet, I vary between 20 and 35 days.

Nine months after I stopped BFing, which was 18 months after giving birth.
