kitchen island seating - anyone has something like this

Anyone has something like this in their kitchen...I found this online and thought it was interesting, so DH and I are considering doing something similar (more like the first picture in shape and look but using only the granite and the wood like in the second picture. Does anyone have bubbled out seating like this in their island with a different material (wood)in the seating area from the rest of the counter.
