Kitchen Sink- which do you prefer/experience?
Updating kitchen - it'll be rustic/cottage - do you like your double sink? I've always liked the look of the farmhouse sinks. Do I need a double instead? Positives/Negatives?

farmhouse for sure. I never understood the double sink. I rather have one large sink for soaking. I know some people have one side for clean and one side for dirty. I guess so you don't need a drying rack on the counter but that wouldn't work for me.

When we did our kitchen, I spoke with DW, and did some research, and basically nobody likes a double-sink. If you really want to have a clean/dirty section of your sink, just get a plastic bin to put in the larger sink temporarily. The single, larger sink gives you so many more options, and you can wash or soak bigger pots and pans.

Kitchen Sink- which do you prefer/experience?
When we bought our house it had a double sink. I HATED it. Was so happy when DH switched it out for one large sink. It was so annoying not being able to fit larger pans etc and just in general being limited to 2 smaller sides instead of just one big sink.

Hate double sinks. They are usually too small to do any good.
I have a large undermount stainless sink. Big enough to wash my largest pot, a really big turkey without getting water everywhere.

I would go for the farmhouse sink. They look more timeless IMO and honestly, more practical. I'd have a problem with some of my pots and cast iron in a double sink, I think they look a little dated too. Go for the farmhouse!

Re: Kitchen Sink- which do you prefer/experience?
I had a double sink growing up and hated it. Just never understood the purpose. Who keeps clean dishes in the sink? Yuck.
I know farmhouse sinks are wildly popular right now but I feel like they look out of place in a modern kitchen. They just stick out from the counter and look kinda like a small bathtub. Just my (unpopular) opinion.
I love my D shaped undermount sink. Its large and very deep.

Kitchen Sink- which do you prefer/experience?
I've had double sinks at our last 2 homes, and wasn't a fan. We just closed on our new house and are updating the kitchen and ordered a farm sink. Def better to wash dishes, larger items etc.

I loath double sinks. I do not understand why anyone outside of a kosher kitchen would find it remotely practical. I love being able to soak my full size roasting pans in the sink after holidays and full sheet pans daily.

Farmhouse sink! When I had my kitchen redone, I insisted on a huge deep sink & I love it.
