Knees
I was on track to doing 5Ks this month and 4th of July... then I helped my dad put in our sprinkler system and since then my knee has been in pain. I have stopped running as the pain comes and goes, from one side to another, all around the knee but never swollen. It even hurts sometimes when I walk, while I am in heels. When I lift up my son my hip hurts as well sometimes.
I don't need a referral to see a specialist so I'm wondering who I should see to have my knee looked at.

An orthopedist. Sounds similar to something I have gone through. You will prob. get a rx for some physical therapy. Feel better!

I have issues with knee pain that comes and goes. I use KT tape which helps a lot of do a lot of stretching. I know it's not exactly the answer you were looking for but I always go for the more natural route before seeing a doctor

An orthopedist can order an MRI & make sure it's nothing like a torn meniscus.
Probably runners knee. Work on strengthening your quads & other leg muscles that support the knee.... that should help a lot... the pain can be from weak supporting muscles around the knee joints.

Thank you for the information. The pain comes and goes and it hasn't hurt for the past few days but it still doesn't feel right... I don't think I've torn anything. Now it feels off sometimes not as much pain.
Anyone have any recommendations for orthopedists in mid-Nassau area-Garden City, East Meadow?

go to my ortho! he did my back surgery and really one of the best. Dr. Leone in Great Neck...tell him I sent you  I hurt my knee when i started running and went to him for it too. feel better babe!

Thanks Diana but it's too far for me. I need something real local so I can do visits during lunch time.
