Knitters and crocheters...
Has anyone ever worked with any of the organizations that collect handmade donations? I have a lull between projects right now, and would love to make some stuff to donate. I know there are tons of charity websites that do this, but I'm curious if anyone has ever worked with any of them. Has anyone ever done this before, or maybe even be interested in doing this with me?

i've made squares for warm up america
project linus is also a good one with a good reputation
if you want something closer to home, check your local hospital for baby items... they would be quick knits until you decide what your next project will be

Thanks, I will look into it. I like the idea of making squares since they are easy and quick, and I can use up some of this extra yarn I have.

My MIL uses her random excess supplies to crochet blankets and she brings them to the animal shelters.

If you google Newborns in Need I know that they accept hats and blankets for premature babies and other needy newborns.
There is also another organization called Binky Patrol Comforting Covers for Kids.

I use my leftover yarn to make mish-mosh blankets and I bring them to Little Shelter in Huntington. Nice and cozy for the animals!
