Knowing the baby's sex is a little bit dangerous...

We went to Target today, and let me just say this: When we found out we were having a Chat Icon yesterday, DH said "I'm scared of the amount of money you're going to spend on clothes!". And today, he was just as bad as I was!!!! Chat Icon

We walked out with 4 girly outfits for the baby, and I'm sure there will be millions more to come! Chat Icon

Re: Knowing the baby's sex is a little bit dangerous...

Oh I weakened today and I had a partner in crime to help me spend money I shouldn't have spent.

But I will tell you this, having a girl sends a chill through a man's spine. He won't want any part of the male species looking at her the way he looks at you. When cleaning out his grandmother's house, DH came upon one of his grandfather's old rifles and pondered where he could keep it in our home to scare away future suitors!

OMG, you did the same as me. I couldn't resist some cute things I saw today....my father yelled at me telling me to make sure I save some things for them to buy. This could be dangerous, is right!

Yes, it's dangerous. Just do yourself a favor and buy more 6-9 and 12 mos. of things you have to have because everyone else will get you NB 0-3 and even 3-6. Chat Icon

Re: Knowing the baby's sex is a little bit dangerous...

I just found out we are having a Chat Icon yesterday. Today I went to Kohl's and bought 5 outfits and a bib that remind me of his daddy. All on sale though in 6-9 or 12 months for this time next year.

DH got this big old fat grin on his face when he saw. Then he yelled at me not to buy anything else since everyone else will.

My in-laws were over last night and they also said they had already bought a bunch of things even before we found out the sex!

Re: Knowing the baby's sex is a little bit dangerous...

I've gotten gifts from people I've never met for Dd. Teacher my MIL works with, neightbors of neighbors..the list goes on.

All because people LOVE to shop for baby girls clothes.

Nobody can resist buying her dresses.

DH and I were looking in a window of a Children's boutique last week and I turned to him and said "I hope for our finances that we do not have a girl. I will buy her so many clothes..."Chat Icon

Re: Knowing the baby's sex is a little bit dangerous...

oh it doesn't have to be a girl to inspire some major purchases.....

I have done yet even MORE damage this week. I innocently went to marshall's to get a part of mom's b'day gift (comfy shoes). Somehow, the gravitational pull towards the baby dept was too intense.....

I ended up buying a SECOND bathrobe (as we all know, I'm a sucker for absorba products, and this little white and blue terry robe has little bear ears on the hood was calling me.... as was another blue absorba outfit with gorgeous embroidered birds on it) both were about only 30% of retail prices... I also got a 'vitamins' outfit.... flannel sage jacket with little bears driving red cars, with a matching onsie, pants, AND bear socks!

I will say, though, I'm staying the heck away from cafe press. if marshalls and the outlets are vodka, cafepress is heroin. I could blow $100 in the blink of an eye on a site with custom onsies costing $16 each Chat Icon

Soooooo not true for me. I got a TON of 6-9 month clothes because people think babies grow really fast. Well, my kid was true to size!!

I'm HOPING people get small sizes... most of the clothes I bought are 3 and 6 mo size... I also bought 1 9 mo outfit...

I only received 1 newborn onsie so far...... but my shower is later this month......
