Kosher for Passover Birthday Cake Recipes
Hi - Does anyone have a good recipe for a kosher for Passover birthday cake? My son's birthday falls during Passover this year. Thanks!

What about a flourless chocolate cake? You can pile it with whipped cream and strawberries.
If you find a recipe and want to make frosting don't forget that you need to get passover powdered sugar (if you want it to be totally k for p) since regular powdered sugar has corn starch in it.

Martha Stewart has a few.... sponge cake or weird sounding but maybe good matzo/ice cream cake
Or can you make your own ice cream cake? Kosher for Passover ice cream softened, with Kosher for Passover oreos/other chocolate cookies crumbled for the crunchies, with another layer of softened ice cream? I made an ice cream cake for my son for his bday, and the kids loved it.

Thanks - the ice cream cake may work...I'm not very creative though.

Re: Kosher for Passover Birthday Cake Recipes
NP... Here is what I did to make my kid's cake:
I think I bought 3 gallons of cookies and cream. I softened them for 20 or so mins. I layered plastic wrap or parchment paper (not sure which I used) at the bottom of an 8 in round cake tin. Then I spread the ice cream so it was about half full.
Then I sprinkled cookie crumbs on top. (I used trader joe's chocolate cat cookies mixed with melted butter, so you would have to change this so it was kosher... maybe chocolate chips?). Then I drizzled melted chocolate on top.
Then I spread more softened ice cream on top of that.
Pop it in the freezer til it is firm. Then take it out of the pan, using the paper/plastic wrap to help. You might have to separate the ice cream from the pan with a knife.
Dump it on a serving plate, then drizzle with more melted chocolate, sprinkles, cookies, whatever.
Pop a candle on top, and you are good to go!
(it is pretty easy to do!!)

Thanks! If I can't find another recipe I'll give this a whirl!

Re: Kosher for Passover Birthday Cake Recipes
I make the America's test kitchen Triple Chocolate cake every year for passover. I just sub in kosher for passover kojel unflavored gelitin from Fairway.Link to recipe It gets rave reviews every year and is truly an outstanding cake. It would rival any birthday cake and make a kid feel special. I would eat this cake any day of the year, but I only make it for passover as it is a time consuming cake.
