Kourtney Kardashian baby-OMG!! Just got the reference!!!!e
Named her Penelope Scotland.
I just did a  when I heard "Scotland".
But then again Jessica Simmpson named her girl Maxwell.
ETA:
I meant it more that it seemed SO self congratulatory...they seem like they are so full of themselves that the "brand" carries over to how they name their kids.
Naming the child after the maiden name, or the father is wonderful. I agree. Its the "brand" that bothers me, NOT naming her after her dad.

That poor poor. I just realized that they named the first one Mason Dash (as in Kar-dash-ian) now they named this kid Scotland, as in Scott Disick.??!!??

I think it's a "problem" because Scott is mega douche but that's just my opinion and it's not like I know him in person or anything but that's how he comes off on TV. But who is to say that he isn't purposed portrayed as a douche for higher ratings, but if you would go along with that then I guess you are still a mega douche.

I completely agree. My maiden name could be a first name and I've always thought that I might name one of my future children it. I thought it would be cute.

i dont see an issue with this. when i first heard the name i got the reference. he's the baby's father so i see nothing wrong with it. I feel the same way about Mason's middle name- i thought it was a cute use of their last name (and their business).

yeah i see no problem. my brother's middle name is my mom's maiden and MANY people name their children after them.

I don't see the issue either...I don't love the name Penelope but I actually like the way Penelope Scotland sounds together. Then again, I also like how they used Dash as Mason's middle name.

I feel the same way. Despite what I may or may not think of Scott he isn't MY father, or the father of MY baby so who cares. He is HER father and I think it's adorable they found a way to use his name. To all of the haters I say...how would you feel if someone bashed a name that was special to you based on it being a family name or you naming your child after their father?

My son has my maiden name as his middle name. It was in honor of my dad and his family, not an ego thing. My DH named his oldest son after him, again, to carry on tradition.

Maxwell, Dash, Scottland - none of them bother me. LOL  I think they are good names.
I don't know that I would name my little girl a male middle name, but it sounds better than Pilot Inspector.

why is this an issue? Most of my european family names all their kids after fathers or grandparents or they incorporate a last name as a middle name if possible.
He might be a jerk but he is the kid's father.

DD #1's middle name is my maiden name. Her first name has my middle name as the last 4 letters.
DD #2's first name is after my grandfather's nickname and her middle name is DH's Grandmother's name.
Scotland is unusual, but I like the idea with both that and Dash of incorporating the names of the parents into the children's names...despite how I feel in general about the Kardashian clan.

It's kind of a southern thing to name a child after the mothers maiden name. My husband is Stephen after his family.. the Steven's. My sister-in-law even considered naming her child her exact maiden name. It would be a bit weird sounding but, no weirder than the crazy stuff I hear in hollywood.
