Labor before c section date
So I'm having a scheduled c section, most likely at 39 weeks. I'm kinda nervous to go into labor before the scheduled date. Last time I had my c section almost 3 weeks early due to low placenta, so I never worried about going into labor before.
Has anyone gone into labor before their scheduled section date?

Labor before c section date
I'm worried about this too since they told me it would be dangerous to have a natural childbirth. I'm scheduled for 12 days before my due date, but I was 19 days early.
I asked my OB and he said if I went into labor I'd come in and they'd do a c-section immediately. It would just become an emergency c-section instead of a nice, calm scheduled one. Still scares me though. DD please stay in until 3/24.

Re: Labor before c section date
Yes- twice-for #2 and #3.
I had to labor a few hours before the sections were done. Just made it all more tiring.
For #3, contractions started at 1am and my section was scheduled for 8am. Little bugger didn't let us get a last night of sleep!

Re: Labor before c section date
I did. I had a planned c-section scheduled for 39w1d because DS was breech, but I went into labor at 38w4d. I actually drove myself into Manhattan (DH was a work), went to my OB to get checked out and was then sent to the hospital. I was 4cm when I got there and had my c-section a few hours later.
I'm pregnant again and will probably opt for the planned c-section again this time, too.
Is there something specific you're worried about?

I'm not sure exactly! I never went through labor with my first so I guess it's the fear of the unknown.

Yup every csection! Don't know what a scheduled one is like (Patients point of view). I doubt I will make it to my scheduled one this time since I have a history of preterm deliveries.

That's what I was wondering, what is the difference? My emergency c-section definitely didn't feel like it was an emergency. Baby's HR went up (after 3 days of induction) and 30 minutes later he was out. It still felt so controlled and calm, the doctors were even joking with me! I have no idea what it would be like to go in for a scheduled c-section.

Re: Labor before c section date
This happened to me. With my son I was supposed to have a scheduled cs on a Friday but my water broke and I went into labor. I partially delivered his foot and tush and then had a cs. If this happens to you go poop before having a cs. No matter if it is a scheduled on or not. Make sure to poop before they open you up. With my dd I had a scheduled cs. It was much easier for a variety of reasons. The thing you must do is get up and walk around as soon as you can. It will help with your recovery.

Labor before c section date
Yes, I was scheduled for Black Friday at 8 am. The night before Thanksgiving, I started to have contractions. When I got to the hospital at 9:30 I was 2cm. They got me comfy and I had a c-section 2 hours later. I was so worried about going into labor, but it all worked out!

Mine didn't feel like an emergency either since I was waiting for hours for my OB to come and do it. With a scheduled you would arrive, check in, get hooked up to fetal HR, IV fluids, then wait until it's time to go in. A lot of times with scheduled you may get bumped if another patient needs an emergency csection. I remember with my first csection being the "emergency" and the woman in the next room was b****ing because she kept getting bumped.

My first C-section was supposed to be an "emergency" too. I was already in the hospital and I woke up 5cm dilated! They said, "ok let's go, C-section at 8am". I got bumped twice and gave birth to the twins via C-section at 1pm.
