Ladies delivering in 1-4 weeks

This is me! i can't believe it. I will be 34 weeks on Friday. If I do not go into labor I will be induced around 37-37.5 weeks(december 8-10 most likely) I cannot believe the day is almost here. we just movede into a new house and thankfully my husband did a great job of getting it together.

The nursery is pretty much put together-we just have a dresser we are painting and that will be done in the next few days. All my newborn and 0-3's and a couple of preemie outfits are washed. I need to pack my bag still and get some grannie pantiesChat Icon

I took breastfeeding class last night and that was helpful-the LC told me I could call her with questions anytime so that is good. She EBF twins for 14 months!! I am still undecided on a pump and she made a good point-initial layout on a pump is around $110 plus the rental fees each month(roughly 40-50) You can buy the Medela PIS for 279 so I don't know what to do about that?

Re: Ladies delivering in 1-4 weeks

Sounds like you are getting prepared.

With my first child, we bought the PIS Advanced and it was soooo worth the investment to own the pump. I will be able to use the pump now for DC #2.

ETA: Definitely use your LC as a resource. They are invaluable!!! I had help from the LC in the hospital but I wish I had thought to contact an LC when I was at home as well. The baby ended up with a bad latch and boy did I suffer. I just figured I would suk it up but OUCH, it didn't have to be that way.

Can't believe it so soon! Pump advice-
I got the one boob pump for my shower($80). Then I had problems with supply so I rented a hospital pump- $50 outlay for parts- $50 rent for two months.

Finally broke down and bought a pump from my Mom's friend who is a LC for $150- the PIS Advanced. I wish I just did that from the beginning!

Good luck! Chat Icon

How come you're gonna be induced that early? Is it because you're having twins?

I'll be deliverying in about 4 weeks as well - just abit b4 the 39 week mark but man I want him out already!

I just had my shower but haven't even set up the nursery or pack my hospital bag. So behind!

As for the pump, I'm gonna see how it goes at the hospital b4 ordering anything.

Re: Ladies delivering in 1-4 weeks

I am due in exactly 4 weeks from today.....but I have begun to dilate and the DR thinks I might go early! Chat Icon

I think I have everything ready.....I have been home as of Friday because I had to leave my school due to fifiths disease. I figured at this point i might as well just stop working. It has been nice since I have had a lot of strong BH and cramping and I am uncomfortable.

I didnt take a BF class, I hope I dont regret that. I just felt like it was like riding a bike without the bike. I have been reading a Breastfeeding book by La Leche League.

I cant believe that this baby is almost here! I am super excited and cant wait to meet him! Chat Icon

Good luck to all the othe mommies due soon!

I had all kinds of infertility issues as well. We had 3 failed IVF's and then I got pregnant with acupuncture. We weren't sure we'd be able to conceive again but it seems that first pregnancy set me straight!Chat Icon We got pregnant the second month trying this time around.
Yay, for the two little ones you are about to have!!! It's super exciting--->> enjoy every minute!Chat Icon

I'm due in 10 days and all I know is I'm less prepared than you are.
It is my goal to finish organizing the nursery and wash baby clothes today and tomorrow.

Re: Ladies delivering in 1-4 weeks

i have a scheduled section in 8 days and am in complete denial. i have been concentrating more on getting all my christmas shopping done over having everything ready for DD#2.

i have all the basics (i think) and will have my family and DH to help when the time comes so i'm not worried.

with DD#1 i rented a hospital grade pump. i was told to ask for the accessory packet up front while in the hospital, because if one goes back for it once discharged, one has to pay Chat Icon. i forget what the monthly charge was, but i know they messed up the bill for me and i didn't pay what i should have for 5 months. i plan to rent again for a month and then see if i should go ahead and buy...

Re: Ladies delivering in 1-4 weeks

I'm scheduled for a c/s next tuesday, 11/18. I can't believe the time is already here!!

I bought the PIS a week or so ago. You have 45 days to return it so I figured that would be enough time for me to see how I do with the BFing all together. Try to get your hands on some bru coupons- I was able to use a 20% and a 15% coupon on it, making it much more reasonable. They said as long as the coupons are different you can use more than one. Hth!

I went ahead and bought the PIS too--I don't see the point in renting if you're planning on breastfeeding for more than just a few months. Plus, I'd rather have it on hand for future children.

I still can't believe the December crew is coming to a close!!!

Re: Ladies delivering in 1-4 weeks

Wow, we are so close. I am due in 4 weeks (sched c/s).

Nursery isn't done, still don't have the furniture yet. Have to put the carseat in, set up a few more shower items that we want ready. Baby's closet is done, but have to wash 0-3 items.

I have to pack my bag...that's gonna be hard though, cause some items I use everyday.

Not BF here, so I don't have to worry about those issues.

Main thing i have to do is write out my shower thank yous. I really gotta get moving on this but my carpal tunnel is not allowing me to do that so easily.

I just can't believe how close we are.
