Ladies who give DC cereal in the bottle for Reflux
Do you give your DC rice or oatmeal in the bottle? I've been giving DS rice but I was curious about the oatmeal since DS has constantly constipated and we have to give him prunce juice at least once a week.

I just started giving him the rice cereal in the bottle last week. DS had major constipation issues when we were going through formula switches. Anyway, once we finally got him on the Nestle Good Start he started pooping every other day. Now that he is on the rice cereal it's been once a day  I was really suprised because I thought it was supposed to be binding but it has had the opposite effect on him!! Now he is also sleeping better (we can put him down in his crib laying flat, before he would end up in the swing).

I was giving Kristina the rice cereal.... she had constipation issues in the beginning, but her body got used the rice starch soon enough, and she was back to poo-ing every day soon enough!

when we were doing it we used oatmeal b/c her doctor said it would help prevent constipation

Doc told us rice in the bottle for the reflux, though I didn't think it helped that much. I think they start with rice because it is the least likely of the cereals to cause an allergic reaction.

doc told us 1 tsp rice cereal in 4 oz bottle. I stopped doing it bc I didn't think it was helping much and it didnt help him sleep any longer anyway
