Ladies with complete previa-- question
Did your placenta move? My doc is telling me that usually the marginal previa moves, but the complete previa only sometimes moves. So there is a high chance that my placenta will not move and I could have some complications such as bleeding and doing things to keep the baby in longer.
So now I'm worried. How many of yours moved? And those that didn't have it move, did you have these complications?
(I may xpost on the parenting also to get those who already delivered).

Re: Ladies with complete previa-- question
i have complete previa now and i'm 26 weeks. They are checking me again in 2 weeks and then again at 32 weeks... it's anoying cause i didn't have this with my first... but i did run into someone who said theirs moved at the very end of the pregnancy so there is still hope!!!
Just take it easy, because when i over do it and do to much the next day i spot very lightly! i am actually going to the dr at 1:30 because i overdid it yesterday cleaning the house! I'm sure their going to yell at me!
Well good luck to you and let me know how you make out!

I just wanted to say BE VERY careful w/over doing it...I had marginal previa and had some bleeding from over doing it. My placenta since moved but now, the Dr. can see in it where I had bleeding and there is actually a section of the placenta missing. The umblical cord moved away from that spot and is off to the side (he said it should be in the middle), but they are monitoring me now to make sure the baby is gaining weight normally and that the placenta, even though not 100%, is working strong enough to support the baby. Just be careful!!!
eta: Dr. said its nothing for me to worry about, but I will be going every week now (I'm 33 weeks) so he can make sure the baby is not being deprived of anything b/c of the placenta.

Re: Ladies with complete previa-- question
Hi there! Mine moved, but to cover my cervix more The thickest part of my placenta was covering my cervical opening from my 24 week sono. I went every 4 weeks for sonos after my Level II.
Keeping the baby in longer was never discussed with me. Actually my OB wanted to deliver me early. She got her wish, but I went into light labour during my amnio check at 37 weeks. Luckily I was 3 blocks from the hospital so none of the concerns or complications were ever an issue during the birth.
Contractions for a complete previa are also very different, since the placenta is not covering the upper uterus. My contractions felt like heart palpitations in the beginning, and eventually felt like AF cramps, then back (lucky me) labour.
Anywhoooo, feel free to ask me anything.

I think my doc was saying that IF i were to have early contractions, like REALLY early, then they would have to give me meds to stop it (therefore, keeping the baby in longer). And she also said they would give me steroid shots for the lungs if needed. But if it doesn;t move, I;ll have to deliver via c section at 37-38 weeks.
I go back for another sono in 5 weeks, so we'll see.
Thanks

Re: Ladies with complete previa-- question
I'm back from the dr., I need to take it easy for the next 3 days dr.'s orders! The dr. said she didn't think the placenta is going to move...because the anterior and posterior are coming from both sides. She said a 30 weeks they will decide whether or not to start me on a steriod to help develop the babies lungs. And then at that point they decide whether or not to have a csection at probably 36 weeks. So we'll see i guess! But the placenta has been completely covering since my 19 week sono... Maybe it's a boy thing! lol I didn;t have any of these problems with my daughter. Vaginal delivery, quick and simple, go figure!
