Re: Landscaping Question
I just did landscaping in my front and back yard. I got 3,000 pounds of dirt from home depot for about $70.00. I got 75 - 40 pound bags. Don't know what a yard is but I got 3 truck fulls of top soil.

Re: Landscaping Question
Stop and Shop has bags of topsoil on sale ... 3 for $10 buks. Each bag is a cubic foot.
That comes out to about $30 per cubic yard. Not the best price in the world... but maybe its not bad considering its priced by the bag (which is usually more expensive).
If I need six cubic yards... thats about $180. Not bad I suppose. Would be easier to transport bags of dirt rather than using a wheelbarrow and such.
Thoughts?

Re: Landscaping Question
Duh, read your post wrong...
I would think it would be easier to transport bags and then if you don't use it all, you could store it somewhere for next year, or even return it possibly.

Re: Landscaping Question
hmmm.. 40lb. bags of top soil at home depot was 1.56 each. We just purchased some this passed weekend. I have no idea how many lbs. are in a cubic yard though.

You are correct! I had a mind burp there, so I edited and didn't elaborate - TGIF!!!
So going on that - it could end up being pretty pricey if you go the Stop and Shop route.

Re: Landscaping Question
I got them when they were on sale for 96 cents a bag. The sale just ended on Sunday I believe. I carried 75 bags, took me all day to do.
