Lap surgery - quick ques
I have had this surgery twice but can't for the life of me remember if I had bandages on my incisions last time and when I removed them or how to care for them.
This time I have this one big steri strip almost glued over each incisions. They said they will eventually fall off in the shower. I've taken two showers and these suckers aren't coming off anytime soon so I gently pulled the belly button one off and cleaned wth soap and a little peroxide and recovered it with a bandaid. Should I pull the others off so i can keep it clean? I asked the nurse at my dr office and she said don't worry about them or I can pull them off if I want.

Re: Lap surgery - quick ques
I'd leave it for now. I don't mess with that stuff for fear of infection
With mine, I just had glue on them and it washed off in time.

I would just leave them also. I left mine on until my follow up visit a week later and the doctor took them off for me and cleaned the area underneath.

I agree. Just leave it alone. Also not sure if you should cover with a bandaid- they may want it to be open to air to heal. I've had 2 laps & that was my experience.
