Laptop battery question

Did you ever have to get a new battery for your laptop? If so, how long did you have your laptop before you had to get the battery?

depends on your habits. Its hard to judge. I would say on average of a year for typical use on a 6 cell battery.

Some people leave there machine on 24/7. If its plugged in, it still eats at the battery. (like me)

I use to have 2.5 hours of battery time and a little over a year later, i have about 1 hour on a decent spec machine (15 inch monitor and wireless)

More features you have, more power it drains.

To answer your question, i havn't replaced the battery yet and probally wait until i really need to be on the road using it (i use it on the road 15% of the time) other wise, i pluged in

Rich's is 3 yrs old - He's on his second battery, and his current battery efficiency is 12%. Yaaay Dell

He needs a new one now - I should probably check ebay for an inspiron battery.
