Laundry- what do you wash before DC?
Do you wash everything before it touches DC? I washed the crib sheets and PNP sheets. Not sure about the clothes, onsies, receiving blankets, etc...

I did and still do wash every piece of clothing or fabric that goes on DS. You just never know where its been.
To get started, I would also wash the burp cloths, blankets, onesies, and any NB sized clothing you might need.
But don't worry, you'll be doing laundry by the 2nd day.

Re: Laundry- what do you wash before DC?
so far, ive washed his crib and bassinet sheets, burp clothes and some recieving blankets.
i have ALL of his clothes hung in the closet by size and will take them out, wash them as needed. Once they are washed, Ill put them in his drawers. Im leaving tags on until I know Ill use them.
ill probably wash all NB stuff this weekend and maybe a few 0-3 month items just in case!!

Re: Laundry- what do you wash before DC?
I'm washing all NB and 0-3 stuff- clothes, blankets, socks, hats, sheets, etc.
Question- are you all going by the individual washing directions on each item? I did for the first couple of loads but there's no way I can check each tag every time I wash. Do you just put everything in delicate cycle with cold water?

Re: Laundry- what do you wash before DC?
I'll be honest I washed all her NB and 0-3months, crib bedding, burp clothes, washcloths, blankets, and onsies...BUT I did that BEFORE she was born and have not done it since with new stuff. I just don't have the extra time. It all gets washed as she wears/uses it and she has been fine with it. If she would have been a summer baby I might have been more anal about it since I LOVE to hang clothes on the line, but in the dead of winter I got lazy. I'm also lucky that she isn't sensative to smells and ect. Do what you feel comfortable with, but IMHO it's not a major thing. When we have another I will more then likely not do any special laundry washing on new things.

I did everything with Dreft, since I got a HUGE one at my shower, in cool water in the heavy soil cycle. The cycle was just because we wash everything in that. Nothing shrank, it smelled great, and nothing faded or bled.
