Lawn care - dog related
Our dog goes to the bathroom in the backyard instead of on walk. What does everyone else do to keep their lawn from getting brown spots?
I remember seeing a supplement at Petco that you give your dog with food or water that's supposed to eliminate the brown spots on the lawn from the dog, does it really work?
Any advice would get great! TIA!!!

I've heard those products are b.s. I'm not sure that they work. I've heard that simply dumping water on the spot can wash a lot of the salt from the urine into the soil. Haven't tried it.
I know people who keep a patch of gravel or a hidden area just for this purpose. They trained their dog to go only in that place. They had to accompany their dog there for a while and treat it to teach it to only go there. But most of the time, even when they're by themselves, they still use it. Probably something about being drawn to the scent of where they've previously gone.

We got some of those supplements this week to use as treats because they were on sale. I'll let you know if they work!
We also once got one of those pheromone stakes to put in the yard that's supposed to make the dogs want to mark right there. The thing smelled like horse p!ss and didn't work at all. The dogs wanted to smell it, but wouldn't pee on or near it.
