Le Play Cafe v. Once Upon a Treetop Birthday Party

Im looking into venues for my DD"s second birthday. Has anyone had their DC's birthday party at either of these places or been to either one for a birthday party? Looking for reviews.

I've been to a party at OUATT and several play dates at Le Play. I prefer OUATT. It's bigger and there is more to do. My DD is a real climber so that big tree thing to climb in the back kept her busy for a long time. The party room is SMALL though, and got really overcrowded when we were in there for pizza and cake (don't know if Le Play's is any bigger).

BTW, the owner of Le Play is (or was?) a mom who posts here on the boards.

I think it would depend on how many kids you plan on having at the party and the age of the kids.

If you are having mostly 2 year olds or younger kids I think Le Play is a better fit. If you are having a lot of older kids I think that OUATT would be better.

I think that for 2 year olds OUATT is a really large and since kids that age don't always play together it might feel really spread out.

I had DD's 2nd birthday party at Kiddie City in Glen Head. It is larger than Le Play but much smaller than OUATT. It doesn't have the awesome climbing treehouse of OUATT either, just a small slide (that my DD was actually too afraid to go in since it's covered). I think it was good size-wise (we had mostly 2/3 year olds) and fun since they have different play areas, sort of like OUATT.

I would have chosen Le Play but a good friend had already booked her son's birthday party there for the month before my DD's birthday and we have a lot of the same friends.

ETA: One thing I didn't like about having DD's birthday at Kiddie City was that they didn't do any kind of organized activity (bubble blowing, parachute, etc.). I'm sure I could have asked for it before the party started, but I didn't even think about it since all the things I had ever been to had always done it. By the time I realized nothing was happening the party was ending anyway!
