Leapfrog My Pal Scout or FP Laugh & Learn Puppy?
For an 8 month old? I remember a lot of moms here raving about one of these but don't remember which one. TIA!

we have my pal Scout. DS started using at 6mo old..he's 13 mo and still loves it!
its sooo cute and i love how i can personalize it online to say DS's name and sing songs with his name. FUN!!
We also have the leap frog leaptop which is great also!

The laugh and learn puppy is definitely not our favorite toy. It just starts yapping randomly. Very annoying! The boys don't really play w/ it at all.
ETA: Needed to re-word my answer. I tripped over the puppy last night and it started talking so we're not on good terms today.

We have all 3. (Leapfrog green doll, the leapfrog puppy and the FP puppy)
Out of all of them I would say , for an 8 month old, the FP Puppy is best. The buttons are a lot easier to push, so your DC would be able to do it themself sooner than the other ones. And its really cute. Like pp said, it does go off easily and can sometimes be annoying, but arent most musical toys annoying?
They are all cute though. The purple leapfrog one (Violet) does know Katies name and she does get a kick out of it, but she still plays with the FP one more. We were actually, JUST playing with it a few minutes ago.
(DD is 2 1/2)

About a month ago I would have said FP L&L, but DS recently received Scout as a gift & he loves it - heck DH & I do too. He says DS name, favorite color, food, animal, etc. - so cute & soft.

DD got Violet for Chirstmas last year at age 2. She LOVES her, and just discovered Scout in a TRU ad and has been begging for Violet to have a friend. She is getting Scout for her birthday in 10 days.

Everybody seems to leave that part out (about it having an off button!)... but ugh the lint thing would soooo annoy me just as much!

DD is a year and she loves the FP puppy. Mine has never randomly gone off. We bought her Violet for Christmas. Seems really cute too.

Yep! You just inspired me to get rid of it. We've had it for 3.5 years and neither of my boys look at it.
