Re: Leaving baby for a night out
7 Weeks It was our 1st anniversary and my Mom watched the baby overnight for us so we could go have dinner and a night for ourselves...
Then we left her with my Mom for two nights at about 10 weeks - I was MOH in a wedding in PA...
She's been an adaptable kid - and I think she enjoys staying with Grandma and Grandpa every so often!

Thanks reading these makes me feel better, my husband suggested going away for 2 nights and i hesitated (and still haven't decided what to do) because i feel bad like a bad mommy. My DS is now 7 weeks. I have to admit, last week my MIL came over so DH and I went to the beach for the day and it felt really good.

2 months old - we went to dinner for my birthday.
Ovenight -- never. We don't really have any family members we could leave her with.

Don't feel guilty. You and your DH still need "grown-up" time - it does NOT make you a bad mom! I left DS overnight with my mom when he was about 1 month old because of a business trip. It felt good to just be "me" for a night - be able to kick back in the hotel, order room service, lay in bed and read, watch a movie, etc. I enjoyed every second of it and I knew DS was in good hands. ENJOY IT!!!!

Re: Leaving baby for a night out
Ahhh, I must show this to DH--he thinks DS is too young to leave with a babysitter. We didn't until a week ago, when we were in Florida at my parents.
DS is 7 months old. So it was a long time, really too long IMO. But we don't have family who will watch him nearby, and DH is nervous about babysitters.

Re: Leaving baby for a night out
Dinner - 1 month old exactly. We went out for Valentines day but I think we were only out for 2 hours.
Overnight - 4 months I think?
But my mom watches her when we go out on weekends so it's not like I'm leaving her with a babysitter. I don't worry as much.

Re: Leaving baby for a night out
For dinner about 4 weeks. Overnight 6 weeks. She was with my Mom so it was easier.
I think alone time with DH is very important. If your lucky enough to have someone you trust watch DC, I say go for it.
Happy Mommy = Happy Baby!!!

Re: Leaving baby for a night out
5 days old! and i had zero problems with doing it. (except for missing him!)
we left him with his grandma as we went to dinner to celebrate our anniversary.
he's 14 days old and we've left him with both sets of grandparents and an aunt about 5 times when we had to run to stores. the grandmas love it!

To run errands (i.e. Target)- 5 days old
Overnight- almost 3 months old (it was our anniversary and we left DS with MIL for 2 nights) I had no qualms about doing it because MIL's taken care of DS several times before and DS was sleeping through the night.

Re: Leaving baby for a night out
About 10 days old...we needed to get out, so we went to a movie while MIL watched her. A few days later, she spent the night at my parent's house for the first time. I'm all about taking help from the grandparents when they offer!

Re: Leaving baby for a night out
Overnight, about 8 months and it was a last minute "surprise". The baby was at our house and my parent's watched her. I was okay but soooo missed her in the AM.
