When my DS was 3 months old my mom watched him during the day when my DH and I went wine tasting for a couple of hours to celebrate my DH's birthday.
Then when he was almost 4 months my DH surprised me with tickets for a play for my birthday and my ILs watched him at my house when we went to dinner and the play.
We have never left him overnight.

Within the first 2 weeks, we left DS with the baby nurse for an hour or so to run out and get a quick dinner. When DS was about 2 months old, my parents sat for him at my house and DH and I had a night out in the city for a friend's birthday. First overnight away was when DS was 6 months old. My BIL watched DS overnight at my house when DH and I went to a wedding. Worst problem with that was how engorged I was
