It's a baseball term..usually a batter who is a lefty is facing south since most ballfields are pitched east.

ETA: a little trivia for ya... most twins are left handed. they believe that if someone who isn't a twin is left handed, they were meant to be a twin.... innnnteresting!

I'm hopelessly right handed. I couldn't do anything with my left had if my life depending on it. I think that's why I could never play guitar..

I'm a lefty!!! I can do a few things with my right hand (my dad made sure I could use scissors so I didn't get stuck with the lefty ones in school - he's a lefty too!)
DH is hoping for a lefthanded pitcher since there's a lefty gene in his family.

my DH too..he was golfing left until a pro told him to golf right..he still blames his bad game on that pro.

I'm mostly lefty, but I do somethings with my right hand - like throw. I can write pretty legibly with my right hand also, but its slow going.

I'm a lefty and so is my mom. DH says that's why I do everything backwards. 
I use a scissor with my right hand only because left handed scissors are very hard to find so I had to learn.
