Let me get this straight.
The OP made an insensitive post. Apparently she has a history of insensitivity (I read these boards almost daily but don't really follow who posts what)
We are now on page 3 of a total pile-on, where we feel free to say anything we want about the OP, no matter how nasty.
Because we, uh, don't like insensitivity
Ironic huh?

i sincerely hope that not ONE of these boy mommies who were so offended ever 'thank god they have a boy' when it's high school time and they observe their friends daughters.

I honestly don't understand why people got so upset over this.
When people say how girls are a horror, moody b*tches, blah, blah when they're teenagers, no one gets their panties in a bunch. I've read countless times how people thank all of their lucky stars that they have a boy when they're are teenagers and thankfully don't have a "snotty" girl. I see that a lot and no one says a thing!!!!!!!!
This whole thing is just silly. Who cares who's easier. Children are hard to raise in general regardless of gender!!
AMEN!! As a mother of a boy - and two more boys on the way, I find no offense in the OP... Do I wish I had a little girl? Sure, but for no other reason that to have a daughter to share things, that I won't be able to with my sons...
Hofstra... I get you. No offense taken here.

I am also the mother of a boy and take no offense. I am sitting here typing this and my DS is being a beast so I understand if someone saw my child and was like thank god I have my child and not that beast......he's my beast so I love him but if I was an outsider looking in I might think differently at my own child.

Re: Let me reword this..............
I think this thread should end. I think it's so unfair. Even if someone or a group of people were offended by Hofstra's post, I think the "discussion" should have started and ended with the post, and not anyone's "history" of posting.
I personally find Hofstra's posts uplifting, she has a very positive attitude about many things. In the example that was given earlier how she is "insensitive" , I just don't get it. I think she feels blessed, doesn't mean she doesn't truly care that someone else is facing a struggle.

you seem to offend a lot of people on this site. your post was definitely not the first and I am sure it won't be the last.
you never offend me but sometimes I read some of your posts and just shake my head....
sometimes just think before you you hit enter.
This made me laugh. Cause *I* fall into that category too.
Everyone can and probably has offended someone here, mostly unintentionally. I find it depends on the momentum of the thread and how fast people pick up on an intentional thought and attack it that results in a slight misunderstanding being categorized as either "another veiled attempt at being insulting" or "a simple misunderstanding.
I have an active girl. but I found no offense to what you wrote Hofstra. And seriously don't think you've offended nearly enough people often enough to warrant this type of ridicule.
But hey what do I know?
Perhaps *THIS* post will be misconstrued as an attack, an assumption or admission. or something other than what I wrote? *shrug*

You are right! She DOES make a point to say how blessed she is when people post about something bothering them and how she never have experienced what they experience and how good she has it.
I think someone posted a few quotes about her pattern on responding to people feeling down. It pretty much sums up how OP appears to many people.
Now she managed to insult her IRL friends too.
So no, I don't think she is being singled out but more of a "really?" once too many time.

You know that saying though. Misery loves company. She has a happy life, a positive outlook, and some people just can't handle that.

The OP definitely lacks class in internet message board posting.
I don't think she is a bad person but she should take her head out of her a$$ before posting sometimes.

I saw nothing wrong with what this OP said in the other thread. It was HER observations and HER opinion based on HER experience.
But, just to clarify for future reference:
On LIF --Gender preference when pregnant is ok--YES
--Gender disappointment when pregnant is ok-- YES
--Stating being thankful for having a specific gender due to one's personal experience is ok--NO, NEVER!
Gotta love it.
OMG so true.

Sorry, I'm not that regular of a poster and this type of crap is why. Its obvious that if one of the more well liked posters said exactly what Hofstra said no one would be bashing her. Its really sad when people claim they are offended saying someone is insensitive and then proceed to bash and bully that person. How hypocritical!!! Its really disgusting the way some posters on here thrive on drama. I hope that these are just your internet personalities!
well said.

So true. I have both a boy and a girl...and take no offense to Hofstra's comments. This forum is meant for people to post opinions...and they may not always be the same as yours. And if I do disagree with a comment someone makes...I don't get bent out of shape about it. I certainly don't use that as an opportunity to post nasty comments about the person.
This post is filled with lots of hypocrisy & judgment.

ITA!!!!!!!!!!! Move on people. The statement was not offensive. I have a boy and a girl as well and my boy is a maniac...does it mean I love him less NO...does it offend me that people say boys tend to be more rowdy than most girls..absolutely not.....

AMEN!!!! This was the point I was trying to make.
This board is just so hypocritical!! I have personally seen many posts of Mommy's "thanking god they have a boy" especially when their children become teenagers!!! No one ever gets offended then!!? This whole thing is just so stupid!!!

I said something similar on the thread that got pulled. It nice to see posters with a happy disposition and a positive attitude.

Re: Let me reword this..............
I'm kicking myself for even getting involved in all this drama but I just saw all this and I love a good soap opera so of course had to go back and see the original comment.
I don't even have a boy and I found the comment to be rude...really rude!!!! She specifically said "my friends that have boys"...she called them MONKEYS!!!! Trying to be funny or not - it wasn't funny and I could totally see how I would be hurt if my IRL friend said that about my child...or referenced my child in that way.
My DD is a MANIAC....my sister has 4 of the most delighful boys on the planet . No but seriously - my DD is only 20 mos and I can see the b!tchy girl side to her already. My sister had it much easier with all 4 of her boys at this age. So yes every child is different...she didn't state that until after she offended people.
And her calling out someone with only 23 posts was also so annoying to me - reminded me of my early days on this board and the "plastics" i like to call them on here - the more popular girls - they'd all laugh at my new mommy questions and call me a newbie over and over.
It was definitely her insensitiveness that was rude....I'd find a new friend if I were her IRL friend on here who she offended. I'd vomit if I had to deal with a friend IRL who bragged that much about their perfect child....(ETA:) and wondered how I survived day to day with my wild monkey!

She didn't say they LOOK like monkeys...just that they are active like monkeys.

Why was that so annoying? Why would someone with only 23 posts chime in on a "brawl" of a post? Odds are it's clearly someone with 2 names or a former regular poster on LIF enjoying the bickering. Let's be real, odds are it isn't an innocent new poster on LIF (jumping on the hate bandwagon against her). You can think what you want, sure. But I don't think it's fair to turn that around as a situation where Hofstra was being a "mean girl".
