What kind, where'd you get it and are you happy?

We have the Megellan Roadmate 2000. Very happy with it. There are pros and cons to the stand-alone GPS (not built in car). The biggest con is that if you turn the GPS off somewhere different from where you start the next day, it gets confused and takes a little time to figure out where it is. Other than this, its great!
We got it at Best Buy last Black Friday.

We have a Garmin, I bought it for DH for Christmas a few years ago and it is a life saver. DH is the type of man who gets lost in out driveway, so totally worth the investment. I bought it of Ebay for $200 cheaper then it was at best buy.

We have a Magellan, my dad has a Tom Tom. If I could buy now, I would get the Tom Tom. It has more features and you can enter towns by zip code. On ours you can only enter by town and it doesn't recognize village names, only township names. For example, if you are typing in Levittown, you have to type Hempstead, Town of, for Jackson, NJ, you had to type Jackson Township. It's too hard to find places if you aren't from the area and don't know the township.

We bought the newest Tom Tom (I am saying that because I don't know the exact model ). We love it!!! Couldn't live without it now that we moved to NC.

since fi gets lost and he uses it sometimes for his job, he has the garmin 330 i think. he was able to buy it online for over $100 cheaper.

We have the Garmin nuvi 650.....I can not say enough great things about this product.....it has everything preloaded in it..... stores, banks,gas stations, restaurants....so with the touch of a button it brings up directions....if you miss your turn or exit, it recalculates a new route for you......also has hands free bluetooth....so your entire phone book is accessible though it..... I would highly recommend this one....it's awesomeeee

My DH sells them so I've tried out a lot of them and Garmin is definitley my favorite, I have a I have this one now and I LOVE it... I don't know what I'd do without it! I tried a Tom Tom once and just about threw it out the window it was so bad.

We have the Garmin nuvi 360 and love it. I don't know how we lived without. No more fights about how I can't read a map . We got my parents the same one and they love it too. They are not very good with new technology but have been able to figure it out slowly.

We have two. DH has one built into his truck (Dodge) which is not nearly as accurate as our Garmin Nuvi.
I cannot say enough good things about the Garmin. Some models will even re-route you to avoid traffic and/or weather conditions.

Magellan Maestro 4040. I freaking love it!! I bought it online. Any GPS is SOOO much cheaper online.
This model lets you search by zip code and is also linked to AAA Tour Book information. It can re-route if there is traffic and has built in bluetooth / speakerphone. It is completely portable and can run on just battery.
