Let's hear it for the boy!! [Hot Plate Question]
I gotta give him credit...he was trying to do something good.
DH was trying to fix a hole in the sheetrock on the ceiling of our garage and somehow fell on the stove (ceramic) and cracked it - bad.
Why is our stove in the garage you ask? Well, because our kitchen is being redone of course so yes, it's actually the stove we use. And now, we have no stove. 
No full kitchen (no dishwasher!!!) for about 6 weeks now, crammed into the downstairs of our house with a toddler, 1 tiny bathroom for the 3 of us... I can't WAIT for construction to be DONE!!!
He's ok, btw. 
So...the point of this post is - do they even make hot plates anymore? We've got 4 - 6 more weeks to go before we have a functional kitchen - I need to be able to cook at least for Jake.
I saw a double one at Target - is this the option I should with? Any other ideas I should consider?

Yes, they do! lol I've been in the same situation as you and yes they do make them! I got ours at Target as well. I think it might be the same one that you were talking about!

Yes...BB&B and LNT's both sell them
you can even get them with 2 burners!!
