Lets make a free/low cost outings list of long island/nyc places to go all summer....
With the prices of gas, and even with dd getting bigger - I know I need to use more of the place on Long Island, anyone else want to join in and share?

The public Library ---- they have so many activities at our Library....and even just going for an hour in the afternoon to do puzzles, play games and read some books is great fun. Plus you can rent movies for free!!!!
The Holsville Ecology Center has a great free petting Zoo.
The Sprinkler Park at Atlas Mall in Queens.

There is a farm in Yaphank that I love taking DD too. The only thing to pay for is the carrots you feed the animals. Its 2$ a bag!
There arent a ton of animals there, but there is a little playground where you can sit and eat lunch (if you bring your own )
There are horses, cows, sheep, goats, chickens and maybe a few others im forgetting.
Its located off of exit 67 LIE, or 57 Sunrise. FM me for better directions if anyone is interested.

Melissa- Atlas park is GORGEOUS !!! that place is like right out of FLorida ! my sister and parents live very close by. the sprinklers are a blast there!
As far as another website. I got this booklet with tons of stuff to do, here's the website on the cover.
CLASSTRIPS.COM
and keep in mind ladies, there are coupons out there for EVERYTHING !!!
I mentioned it before, but if you go to entertainment.com and do a free trial
entertainment.comFREE TRIAL
you can print a few free coupons in ANY zip code (but it has to be within 2 weeks of you planning to use it). you can enter your own zip code to get the email, but then when you follow the link to search that is sent to your email account, you can change the location.

I just thought of another one. Republic Airport in Farmingdale. If you go into the airport (enter as if you were going to the 56th fighter group) and drive around the airport, there is a small parking lot right beside a grass area with picnic tables. Probably for Employees of the Airport, but noone has ever stopped us.
DH works near there so sometimes we pick him up and have lunch there ...... and Emily loves it because we get to watch planes and helicopters take off and land.
