Re: Let's start a bragging post
Such smartie kids we have!
Gianna is 9.5 months old, been walking assisted for over a month now, just started cruising.
She pulls herself up to sitting position, rolls, pulls herself on her belly and up to standing. She points at everything! She waves hello/bye bye, been saying mama/dada since about 7 months old. I am so glad so far she's keeping her blue eyes like mine, otherwise she's all daddy!

Re: Let's start a bragging post
This is fun...I love reading about what the other kiddies are up to!
Jake is 19 months and knows 4 basic shapes (circle, square, triangle, & star), 5 colors (purple, red, yellow, blue, green).
He makes a few animals sounds - pig, cow, rooster (that one's funny), sheep, duck, & dog.
Sings the ABCs in da-da form LOL and the EI-EI-EI-O part of Old MacDonald. He knows a few letters and numbers but I haven't really bothered to count and identify exactly which ones yet.
He brushes his own teeth (and is happy to do it ) and can feed him self with a spoon with very little help. He can do it without help but it gets very messy
He tells me when he poops.
He tells Meiko (the dog) "Down!" and points to the floor. (command to lay down)
Has a couple of two-words phrases like "don't touch" and "thank you".
He brings me my shoes in the morning when I'm getting dressed and says SHOES! but then grabs my socks and runs away with them laughing and yelling socks!

Re: Let's start a bragging post
My DS turned 11 months this weekend. He is always "on the go"-- he did the army crawl at 4 months! Then he started normal crawling at 6 months, and cruising maybe a month or so after that. This weekend he took 2 steps unassisted!!!
He is really good at comprehending things-- if I say "where's the...." or "show mommy the...." he will go over to the object or point/gesture toward the object. He probably knows about 50 different items/people like this. He understands "give me the..." and gives me the item.... if I say "Daddy's in the kitchen" he goes charging into the kitchen.
He doesn't clap or wave bye-bye. He does give high fives though! He was LATE in babbling-- no "dadadada" or "mamamama" sounds till he was 9 1/2 months!!! Even now he doesn't say it with meaning.... everything is mama or dada. I was neurotic and took him to a speech pathologist over this, who assured me this was normal

Re: Let's start a bragging post
DD is 3 1/2 months... she's started mimicking the sounds we make and sleeps through the night (from 10.30pm to 7:00pm)! She doesn't roll over and hates tummy time. She's excellent at spitting up- still... i hope that goes away soon.

Re: Let's start a bragging post
Samantha is 4 1/2 mos. and can out drool even our dog when we have steak....she can soak through a bib, outfit, onesie and my clothes in a matter of seconds.....She can also fit both hands fully in her mouith and recently learned to gag herself (what proud parents we are! )
we do think she is extremely cute though and she is able to sit up for about 7 sec before she flops....she recently grew a love of tummy time (right when i was convinced she would never get upper arm strength!) and loves to do crunches for hours on end...
she is also very vocal - and we love her bely laughs and raspberries!
and her best talent - being out cold until she is one cm from the crib durnig which time she arches and screams if she has fallen asleep while you hold her...she is not supposed to yet know the difference, but alas, seems to be a genius

My little man is 8 months and he is the most handsome baby ever.
He is very quick and very strong. He eats anything I give him. He gives me high fives. He gives the best hugs too. I just love him to pieces.

Re: Let's start a bragging post
what a great thread!!!!
Sydney is 5 1/2 months. She too can drool like its nobody's business and burp and fart louder than her daddy.
she has been rolling over like a mad woman from back to belly since about 4 1/2 months (only belly to back occassionally)
can sit unassisted in the tripod position for a few weeks now
She already has 2 lower teeth with 2 more that poke through every now and then.
she is so vocal, always babbling and "singing"
she laughs outloud and gets hysterical at the dog, its really so so cute (this one is my fav)
she is and always has been super aware of everything
she loves to "read" and watch wonderpets

Re: Let's start a bragging post
Grace is 5 weeks old and Dh and I swear she said Hi back to me at 5 days old. Her grandma says that was just a burp but I beg to differ.
She also has been social smiling since she was only 3 weeks old and no its not gas.

Re: Let's start a bragging post
My man sometimes remembers to make the bed, he usually puts his socks in the hamper, he hides the remote but sometimes remembers where he put it, and he knows MOST of the words to the PinkY Dinky Doo theme song.
Oh wait... I thought we were talking about our husbands!!!

Re: Let's start a bragging post
Let's see....
Ava is 29 months now. She does the usual stuff- counting, shapes, some colors.
She is big into musicals. She is obbsessed with The Wizard Of Oz, Grease and Annie. She knows almost all of the songs and a lot of the dialogue too.
She also loves to watch A baby Story on TLC. She knows "where" the baby comes out of during a regular birth. Today she told everybody we met- the librarian, cashier at the supermarket and the daycare director..."Mommy had a c-section"
So, there is never a dull moment when this kid's around!!!
