lets talk diapers/wipes & $$

DH and i just looked over our monthly spending & cut back where we could

one of those areas is food shopping... usually, i would spend about $300 a month on groceries... i would always shop at stop and shop, but i have ALWAYS been smart about it... only buying sales, using coupons etc etc

we cut the grocery spending down to $200 a month -- which has been working out *knock on wood* for the past 2 months

obviously we will have to add in diapers and wipes to that budget when the baby comes, but i've heard from so many people different ways to cut back in this area... just wondering what people are planning to do, or what some of you ladies already do for those who are BTDT

like, do you buy the diapers at costo or BJs? do you go with the store brand when you can, but use the expensive diapers overnight (someone gave me that suggestion) OR do you just shop around to all the different stores for the best sales?

I use the costco wipes the box lasts about 3.5-4 months ..The Target brand diapers are good..I haven't had any leaking problems..at night I use Pampers only because I have some..I will try the Targets at night when I run out.

We buy our diapers at BRU with the rewards card and when they have a sale. the diapers at BRU are usually the same price as BJ's or Sam's once you use the coupon from BRU and then you can also use the manufacturers coupon also. And if you join the BRU rewards program for every 9 boxes of diapers you get a coupon for the 10th one free, so thats a $40 box of diapers for free. We've found that to be the cheapest since we only use pampers.

We have also switched from pampers swaddlers and cruisers to pampers baby dry for 2 reasons. 1. pampers dry max didnt work for us and 2. you get more diapers per package with the pampers baby dry- also maximizing our savings.

I was told by several friends that diapers, wipes & formula are the cheapest at BJ's & Costco.

I also have friends that buy & use the Kirkland wipes & powder formula & are satisfied.

I like to keep my out for good sales & stock up when I can from that.

I started a diaper/wipe price tracking spreadsheet, I've gotten diapers as low as 8 cents a diaper using various sales and coupons.. with the average being about 15cents. Wipes I try to get below two cents a piece I'm a nerd.

BJs has coupons on their own brand and really brings the price of those down..

we buy diapers and wipes at bj's. with coupons its the cheapest.

and my best advice is not to stock up now. a box or two is fine, but there is no need to spend $$$$ on boxes and boxes when you don't know what will work on your DC.

Sometimes when I don't have coupons for the Pampers(which I love!) I get the Target brand in the big box and they work just fine.

with 3 kids in diapers, i am always searching for diaper deals !
i usually buy from costco, but always stock up when there are sales at other stores. the website the PP mentioned is great for finding diaper deals. also, the sunday paper always has diaper/wipes coupons.

diaper.com is pretty well priced and you get $10 off your first order, $5 off your second. i order from there when im running low sometimes - shipping is usually overnight.

I have been buying wipes at Sams Club they have a large selection than Costco. Diapers I'm starting out with Pampers because I received them at my shower but I plan to go LUVS, which are my favorites and much cheaper, and often Target has them on sale.

I am planning on buying from Costco as I heard they have very good deals.

For my shower, I requested to have a diaper and wipe wishing well. I have a closet PACKED with diapers and wipes of all sizes and brands. If you haven't had your shower yet, you may want to try this.

Costco wipes are great and soo cheap.

DH complains about all the other brands, not sure what his issue is but he only likes Costco wipes.


Diapers BJ's is cheap, you can use their coupons plus manufacturer coupons.


Try out all difference diapers. We just switched to Luvs, we actually like them better than pampers and they are $10 cheaper per box.

I used Costco diapers when she was tiny, I thought they were fine.

I know most people have no interest, but using cloth diapers will save you THOUSANDS of dollars.

My DH and I have been purchasing diapers/wipes since about 12 weeks. We buy whatever brand is on sale at different stores combined with coupons. Target almost always has a sale on Pampers or Huggies.
