I'm absolutely obsessssssssed with my kindle.
My only issue is that I need a lightweight case. Anyone have any recs? The one I have is heavy and weighs down my bag.
I have the patagonia case for mine. patagonia

Re: Let's talk Kindle or similar devices! UPDATED WITH NEW Q
I have a Sony Reader, I bought it at least 3 years ago. I love it. I can download books from my library. I can read it outside with no problem, since it uses that E Ink® Vizplex technology, and it is so easy on the eyes, its like reading a regular book. I like that it has a memory card and SD card slot so I'm able to expand its capacity (if i needed).
I also read a lot of non-fiction books that are more flip through books, (I love the bookmark feature for this also) i like that i can have them all with me so I can choose which book i'm in the mood for.
My mom got the Ipad. All she wanted was a device for reading but my dad talked her into getting the ipad. Its cool, but because its just a computer/touch screen and its backlit its hard to read outside or in the light.

I don't have wifi at home. Just Fios. Is that 3G or do I need a wireless device to add on?
Man... I $uck at this kind of stuff!
You don't have a wireless router? No laptop? Only wired computers?
If you don't have wifi at home, as long as you are able to get AT&T signal in your home the nook should connect to the AT&T signal it natively has.
Without wifi at home, you wouldn't be able to use the webbrowser on the Nook.
BTW, not sure if anyone mentioned but for the month of June if you buy a nook you get a 50 dollar B&N giftcard.

I got the Nook. I am able to pick up a wifi signal.
And yes, I got the $50 GC.
Best Buy has the same deal on Nook also.
I was able to download a book from my local library already. So convenient!!!!
