Re: Lets Talk Prenatal Vitamins!
I'm taking Spring Valley. I got them at Wal-Mart. They were cheaper than the One-A-Days. I figure I'll switch to the better stuff when I get my BFP but for now, the 240 tablet mega bottle is good enough.

Folic Acid is I think the most important vitamin to take while pregnant and for a couple/few months before getting pregnant as it is proven to prevent birth defects (spina bifida).
My doctor said to start taking at least 800 mcgs of Folic Acid 2 months before TTC. Most multivitamins have some folic acid and prenatals usually have a higher dose.

Re: Lets Talk Prenatal Vitamins!
My vitamins have been making me nauseous lately. Can someone tell me a little more about the Target prenatals? Are those the "Rainbow Light" ones that I hear about? Or are those two different?
I've resorted to taking just 1200 mcgs of Folic Acid and 500 mgs of Vitamin C since I've gotten so nauseous from my others, so I'd love some input.

I started 1month prior to getting PG with DS (last year). I just starting taking them the past couple of weeks because we're going to TTC again. I take a basic CVS brand.

I used the target prenatals from my last pregnancy, between POAS and going to the doctors and getting a prescription. They are called rainbow light. They were good for me in the beginning, didn't have a bad after taste like some of the others. I stopped using them around 10 weeks because I couldn't keep them down.. had to use flinstones for the rest of the pregnancy.

Re: Lets Talk Prenatal Vitamins!
I take the Target brand prenatals. They aren't the Rainbow Light ones, just regular Target brand. They have the recommended 800mcgs of folic acid. Normally vitamins make me sick to my stomach but I haven't had an issue with these at all and I've been on them for almost a year.

I agree, the Target prenatals are very gentle on my stomach and so many other vitamins have made em sick. I tried to take the prescription ones the doctor prescribed bu they made me sick to my stomach and constipated. The Target ones do not!

Re: Lets Talk Prenatal Vitamins!
Ok guys, thanks for the info (I always thought the "Rainbow Light" ones WERE the Target brand).
Soooo, I'm looking online for them and can't seem to find the Target brand ones. Do they have their own brand name I should be looking for? Thanks!

They are Target brand prenatals. I bought them in the store in the vitamin section.

Re: Lets Talk Prenatal Vitamins!
Rainbow light prenatals. Got them at target. Im still taking them now even though im 22 weeks. They're easy on my stomach and the ones the dr. wanted to give me are notorious for constipation and other problems.
I already have stomach issues and this brand gave me no problems.
You can also take flinstone vitamins too if you have problems swallowing large pills.

I used to take Flintstone vitamins but then we bought a HUGE thing of Vitamins (500 pills) and those make me nauseous. I think I'll try the Target or Rainbow Light ones and if not, go back to the Flintstones ones and add Folic Acid separately.

Re: Lets Talk Prenatal Vitamins!
My OBGYN gave me a prescription for Citra Natal with DHA. I love them and they have a stool softener in them also. But the DHA makes me break out so I don't take that part.
