It's definitely typical teen talk. Disgusting, but true. I teach 7th and 8th grade and they throw "gay" and "retarded" around so loosely. I'm always having a conversation about how dropping your books on the floor doesn't make you retarded and that it's an insult to people who actually are retarded or telling the kids that real gay people don't do the stupid things they do when the call each other that as an insult. It makes me mad, but honestly I think it has ZERO to do with Sarah Palin as the parent.

Hate to say it, but it does sound like typical teen crap to me. Calling people gay, faggots, fat, losers, etc. Not that that makes it right, but it does seem typical.
