Letter From A Mother to her Daughter
This was published in the newspapers yesterday - Vanessa Redgrave wrote it to her daughter Natasha Richardson a few years ago.
I am posting it on parenting becuase I think it is a reminder that life is too short and moments are too fleeting to not cherish as much as possible.

What a truly private letter.
Yes.. I was initially shocked that the family had made it public but then I remembered I have shared some of the letters I have written to my children 'publicly'. I think it may have been part of Vanessa Redgrave's memoirs..
I think it's beautiful and it hits home for me because I am constantly working with the thought in mind that I am trying to build a better life for my children. But every now and then I need to remind myself that I have to ease up a little so that I can enjoy them.

this reminds me of something my own mother would write to me..
weve talked about it often, that i in fact did not get my mothering skills from her and she feels very sorry about that

How truly beautiful and I am thankful that they did publish that letter.
It made me think about the relationship I am trying to build with my own daughter
