Level with me here...... **update lol**
How bad is it to eat tuna fish on Ritz crackers for lunch?? I haven't eaten it once since I've been pregnant and I really really want it!! I'm trying to remember if my Dr told me to avoid it completely or just to eat it in moderation. I have the CHUNK LIGHT tuna in the fridge. Is that the better one to eat or the worse one?? I can't remember!!
****update**** So guess what--the mayonnaise we have here in the house is expired!!!!!! It says best if used by Aug 13, 2008. I guess that means no tuna for me!! URGH!

Re: Level with me here......
my doc said if i have to have tuna - do it once a week.
i've limited myself to once a month...or whenever i want it....which hasn't been as often as i thought it would be...i think i've had it twice...

Re: Level with me here......
In moderation is ok - chunk light tuna or albacore is best.

Re: Level with me here......
I thought the doctor may have said 'in moderation' but I wasn't sure. Sounds like that's right according to what you ladies are saying.
TUNA HERE I COME!!!
Thanks for the responses!

Re: Level with me here......
I've switched to the canned chicken breast, which is kind of like tuna...Same consistency, and often satisfies that urge for me!

Re: Level with me here......
I have been craving tuna my whole preg. but I am too much of a scaredy cat to eat it. My doctor also said in moderation. I just get nervous that what if that one time I have it in moderation happens to be the one that is full of mercury or something. I know I am paranoid but that's just me. I say go for it. I like to live vicariously through other people these days

I agree with the moderation part but the FDA actually recommends against albacore tuna for pregnant women because it contains higher levels of mercury that other kinds of canned tuna. Chunk light or other varieties should be OK every so often.
