Lice prevention?
One of my DD's classmates has lice Is there anything I can buy to repel the lice? I put hairspray in her hair because I've heard that they don't like product. Is there anything specific I can buy to repel the lice? That is the LAST thing I need right now

Re: Lice prevention?
In our school they have all the girls wear their hair in a pony tail. If they have really long hair they suggest that they braid it.
They also have them keep their jackets in their backpacks.

Re: Lice prevention?
If her hair is long I would put some leave in conditioner in it, and braid it.

Re: Lice prevention?
Buns, and I've heard rosemary works, so that stuff the pp said could work. When it was in our school I spoke with someone at the DOH and they said to use a little hairspray around the nap of the neck so the bugs couldn't cling on. I don't think it's realistic but you could have DD put her stuff (backpack and coat, etc) into a bag before she puts it in the closet with the rest of her stuff. I don't know how old DD is but make sure she knows not to share hats, scarves, clothing, etc. GL

Re: Lice prevention?
Put her hair up in a bun or braid it, tell her not to stand too close to her friends...

We've used it through several huge lice outbreaks at school and camp over the years. I don't know if that's the reason but so far, so good.

I use Fairy Tales spray and gel on my son every day! There was a huge outbreak in his class earlier this year and he didn't get it, knock on wood!
