What do you use for acne treatment & prevention during IVF treatments?
I am 33. I got my first pimple at age 29 and it hasn't stopped since! I get horrible acne and scars constantly. I was on prescription meds which helped a lot but have been off them for almost a year now, and my face is worse than before.
If you suffer from bad acne, what do you use that's safe during IVF treatments and pregnancy? I am at a complete loss! I wash my pillowcases every weekend, I never let my hair touch my face, I drink lots of water. I wash my face twice a day with an aloe vera cleanser and toner. But NOTHING happens. My face is just as pimpley and scarry as before.

not sure specific to IVF but my dermatologist said the only things really safe for pregnancy are over the counter topicals like 10% benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid creams and washes.
i use benzoyl and it works OK but not great. my acne is specifically caused by high LH/increased testosterone so i am being treated for that with dexamethasone which has helped a lot also.

I don't have bad acne but I get very bad, sore, pimples. I have been using J&J Clean and Clear cleanser, moisturizer and pimple treatment. My Dermatologist said that it would be okay even when pregnant.

Sorry to crash, but after checking with my OB and my derm, I was told that both Finacea and Azelex (azelaic acid) are safe to use while you are pregnant. I am not sure if that also applies to undergoing IVF treatments. The only difference between the two is that Azelex is stronger. They are both used to treat cystic acne, which I have.
