Re: LIRR Advisory...AGAIN!!!

It's better than when they were hitting people with trains every other week.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I work in the city, too. If I couldn't joke about this, I'd scream. They better fix this in the next 4 hours. Chat Icon

I was just in Penn returning a monthly ticket. It's a madhouse. Board is devoid of track numbers.

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon No DH didn't need his Metrocard option for June. I'm so cheap that I waited online to return it & buy a new one without the Metrocard.

My understanding is that it's affecting all lines west of Jamaica.

Re: LIRR Advisory...AGAIN!!!

All service west of Jamaica (to and from) is suspended at the moment.

The woman behind the counter I don't think knew what she was talking about) said that there were no trains running Jamaica to the East either.

BUT the advisory & the website said service from Jamaica west.

DH was going to take the E train to Jamaica but has opted to wait it out.

Re: LIRR Advisory...AGAIN!!!

just got this off the LIRR site:

Thursday, May 31, 2007 3:45 PM

Evening Rush Hour Service:

Beginning at 4 PM the LIRR is anticipating operating its regular evening rush hour service out of Penn Station and Brooklyn; however customers should expect delays of 10-15 minutes and some canceled and combined trains.

We currently have limited service restored west of Jamaica Station between Jamaica Station and Penn Station, as well as between Jamaica Station and Flatbush Avenue while we continue to assess and repair the damage to the signal system from the earlier brush fire west of Jamaica.

NYC Transit is also honoring LIRR tickets at Penn Station, Flatbush Avenue, Jamaica, Woodside, Forest Hills, and Kew Gardens
