Little Sneakers and Babies

I know they're adorable, but those tough looking sneakers I can't imagine can be good for a babies feet? Only asking b/c for Hanukkah DS got a bunch of those Nikey sneakers. I felt bad b/c I don't really see myself putting DS in these high ankle sneakers. Chat Icon
I understand the soft ones, but I'm talking about the basketball looking sneakers. I just put him in socks and then he's covered in the carseat.

If they are not yet totally walking, then it is not recommended for them to be anything but barefoot or have socks on if they are trying. I guess there's nothing wrong with putting shoes on for show or to keep their feet warmer, but if he's in a stage where he's up on his feet whether it be pulling himself to stand, cruising, etc then he shouldn't have shoes on.

If they are not really walking then they really are just more for completing a look. They dont really need to wear sneakers until they are walking. I didnt put DS in sneakers until just recently. But we also live in FL so no shoes or sandals worked for us. Now he's a fuill fledge walker and we have him wearing sneakers.

Soft soled shoes are considered better for pre-walkers and early walkers, but ultimately, socks or barefoot is best.Chat Icon
