Id have to agree with you. Just like the people who through their kids sweet 16 and baptism's at Russo's or any "wedding venue" for that matter!
Any place but here you would have a great family wedding with the things that are important your marriage and your friends and family!
We went to Wedding's in GA actually one the bride and family was from here and the groom and family was from there. They had it in the club house in their devolpment. We decorated the night before Her mom cooked the food wedding cake (yum) and they had a cd player as the dj. AWESOME TIME. We of course all got dressed up and the grooms family came in jeans and t-shirts and was expecting finger sandwiches. And sometimes I think how awesome is that. They don't need anything fancy they are truly there for the celebration of the marriage

More power to them. We are all entitled to our beliefs, but we must also respect others. It would have been a different story had she said "I'm not getting married at a catholic church because its my decision". But she mentioned a few false generalizations and stereotyped precana (even though she never attended).
The icing on the cake was that she was ripping into traditions like having your father walk you down the aisle, taking your husband's last name, and the garter toss but she admitted she was wearing a white dress. I mean if your not going with tradition, then stick to it. But dont pick and choose which traditions you want to follow and rip others for following their choices.

Oh I am not saying that the OP in that post was not a total whacko. And no matter why someone hold certain beliefs they should NEVER slam other people for theirs. Not right in any situation.

Just trying to clarify that although I was defending the catholic church, it was done with the purpose of pointing out everyone's differences should be respected and not belittled.

I know so many married brides who helped me SO much by coming back and recommending things.
As for the original post: I have no idea what happened- I totally missed it and now that it is pulled I cannot see what it was all about... But, from the other posts seems like someone got their priorities a little screwy. Everyone is different and some people care about things more than others- I just think as long as people realize the most important thing is you and your SO (and your relationship) then that is all that matters-- b/c that is the most important aspect of a wedding and the marriage that will follow.

I didn't get to read the post before it got pulled but I don't post as much anymore, I do chat every now and then with the gals I've become friendly with. That site gets me PO'd sometimes, especially if someone asks you a question and when you answer, some other @ss takes it upon themselves to tell you that you are wrong and then gives her 2 cents like it is right and your opinion is nothing.

thats why I am on here! I can't talk about my wedding 24/7 - i go on there when im going to book someone or need to do some research - but to consume myself for this one day affair was driving me crazy!

im not sure which thread you guys are talking about - but if its the one with "worst wedding" - someone said how "inconsiderate" it was to "working people" to have a sunday nite wedding.
Sorry I wanted to buy a house and didnt want to spend an extra $10K to have it on a saturday nite. People can just leave early, I dont care!

i'm with you beth! after the wedding i was like "OMG, no more wedding planning! what am i gonna do with all my free time???"! turns out, i had ALOT to do after the wedding!!! the brides that think that its all about the wedding and not the marriage are in for a rude awakening! and i think it's really sad that alot of women have lost site of what its all about.
gina - i missed the thread! they pulled it before i had a chance to check it out...are you starting trouble!?!?!?
