Re: Local Mom leaves kids in Car...
I think we're all tempted to do that sometimes, but you just don't do it. However, I do admit to running in to pay for gas or grab milk at the gas station/deli. But I can see my car and DS the whole time (all 45 seconds.)

Re: Local Mom leaves kids in Car...
My mom and dad did that with us. My parents left us in the car to buy a sofa. Yep... a sofa. That was years ago and they were young. They never thought anything would happen.
Well, it did and to this day my sister and I still remember it like it was yesterday. It "traumautised" us. So much that my sister still "scream" at my mom when the topic comes up. I was 4.5 and my sister was 3. I started throwing blood thought my mouth (Sorry!! TMI). It was all over and I could not stop throwing up blood. My sister was scared and I told her to "scream" for my mom. To keep screaming as loud at she could. And she did. We thought they would hear us. I can tell you how bad it felt when your mom is not there and you feel like you are so sick and nobody comes. Mind you we were very obedient. We were not allowed to open the locked doors or open the windows....so we stayed in the car. It felt like ages. My mom came out of the store (finally!) to "look" at us but never came close to the car. My sister screamed for my mom but she was too far and could not hear her. She thought everything was fine and went back in the store. After a while they came out and I screamed at them that they left us and I was throwing up blood.
We RACED to the hospital in the ER.
Let's say they never did it again. Just lost me in the grocery store several times (another story!!!).
You think nothing will happen but you just never know.

Re: Local Mom leaves kids in Car...
I just don't understand how anyone can possibly think that is ok to do!!! Some people need to have their kids taken away.

Re: Local Mom leaves kids in Car...
You think after all of the stories parents would learn. My mom did this when we were little and my brother actually drove the car She ran in for a second to get milk and left the keys. We were older- like 8 and 5 but I couldn't stop him. I was awful!
