Locust Valley teen dies in car crash

How terrible. I often wonder what are the odds of texting while driving in accidents like this? Her poor family. What a beautiful girl, seems like she had it all going for her.

that's horrible
for her family
on a side note, i'll never understand why parents let their unexperienced teenaged drivers drive around in small sports cars - especially in the winter. my kids will be driving tanks.

she could have been texting...or just playing with the radio
I wonder if she was in a bigger car - would she have been ok?
my sisters close friend was in a Ford Explored and hit a gravel truck head on and lived
my Dad always had us in SUVs- I would never have been allowed to drive a little convertible as such an inexperinced driver
its very sad....she was very pretty

I crashed into a pole with my Jeep Cherokee in the rain. When I went to get my stuff out of the car, the guys at the body shop were surprised that I was alive, let alone just bumped and bruised. They made bets on me being dead.
I get the feeling big cars save people more often than we hear. I also bet having a big car like that is part of the reason I lost control of the car, but thats an entirely different story. lol

so sad, i first heard about this through a patient who is a teacher at her school. This is the second deadly crash this week involving a 17 year old.
