Long weekend away with a 1 year old.
Any Suggestions?
Looking to go away for about 3-4 days over the summer. Driving distance.
Something different from PA, we always go there and are going to Great Wolf in October.
Thinking of Virginia, but what area would be good with a 1 year old?
Thanks!

a couple of ideas:
-Lake George
-Mystic CT
-Jersey Shore (NOT Seaside!!). I don't know the exact area, but there are family places down there, I think its Wildwood.

Well PA wants YOU, so does that count?
I don't think VA is worth it for Mallory. It wasn't even good for our kids, but we did it more for the adults.
Honestly, there isn't much that will be good for her at her age in another state that you can't find here. Just local things like a zoo, aquarium or playground would be good for her. If you go out of state, plan it more for you guys than her. JMHO.

Yes, that does count! We still might be able to do that this summer.
I just want to take a full week off with Anthony and go somewhere for a few days to get away. I know there won't be much for Mallory to do, but I can't take her to an all couples resort. It will still be for us, but she will be there.

We went to Mohonk Mountain house last summer with DS when he was 1, and loved it so much that we booked it again for this summer~

Re: Long weekend away with a 1 year old.
We rented a cottage in Hamptons Bay for 3 days when DS was 14 months. It was so relaxing.

Southern maine: Outlet shopping, beaches, cute towns to explore (ogunquit, wells, kennebunkport) Visit old orchard beach (has an amusement park, not the classiest place, but can be fun - excellent people watching) Small zoo in York maine. Visit Portland. Boat tours, shopping, great dining. Visit some lighthouses.
North Conway: Take a railroad trip around mt. Washington or drive up mt. washington. Visit the lake, outlet shopping, cute stores in town, visit storyland (my two year old neice loved this!), good restaurants in town.
