(Long) weekend getaway suggestions
We want to go someplace to just reconnect and chill out. We have passes at Disney, but that's not what we're looking for. We don't want out usual kind of vacation where we cram in as much sightseeing or whatever as posisble. We want to go somehwere where maybe there are some things to see, or dining, or maybe chopping or a cute town, but nothing like Disney or DC or Boston where it's on the go all the time, but at the same time we want some things to do, KWIM?
So far we've kicked around Upstate NY somwhere? Hilton Head, SC Cape May Montauk
But I don't really want to spend a lot of $$.
Suggestions would be great!

The DH and I went to NJ - Long beach Island in Beachhaven. It is off season and really romantic b/c of it being so desolate.
We brought our fav bottle of wine some candles and it was right off the beach. The rooms even had their own fireplaces.. check it out
Good luck. Julia's of Savannah The Gables

How about a cabin in the poconos, just hang out by a fireplace?
ETA: How about Ithaca in upstate NY? Theres a cute shopping area, lots of nice wineries and resteraunts to go to, and hiking, a golf course, etc. I went to school up there, and its really beautiful.

Newport, RI. You walk around for free, do shopping in the town, walk around gardens at estates, or pay for the tours, or do a million other things in the area. Very affordable. We went for a long weekend and only paid for lodging and dinner and spent less than $500.

We love Newport, Rhode Island. We go every year- we are in CT so the drive is easy...it is one of our favorite summer spots! So much to do, but relaxing is absolutely part of that!

Hilton Head is amazing but it's a 16 hour drive or you'd have to fly into savannah and rent a car and drive from there (only about an hour drive though) I've been going to HH since I was 10.
Rhode Island is nice.... Boston was a lot of fun Ocean City,MD

Cape May is nice when the weather is warmer. Cute town, nice beach, awesome inns...also not a far drive.
When were you looking to go?
