Look Ma! We gots some furniture!
FINALLY found a dining room set that was reasonable and we both liked!!
We got it from Tiffany Furniture on 110. They had a great selection of simple dining room sets 
now if only we could find a couch....

We had the same problem couch hunting. Finally, yesterday, I went into this little store right near Tiffany Furniture called Sofabed Etc.. (We did not get a sofabed) and found out that it is a direct dealer of Sealy Klaussner furniture (the leading manufacturer of furniture in the country. Here, you can create your own furniture -- fabric, frame, design, type of set, for a great price. This is because unlike The Place and other larger stores, this place has little overhead and can sell the furniture for more realistic prices. I saw the same stuff at Raymour and Flanigan for double the price! We wanted a traditional, yet comfortable look for our living room, and it is exactly what we were looking for.
