Looking for a new place to get my nails done but I have very specific requirements.....
Okay here goes: I currently go to a salon that changed owners about 6 months ago. The new owner does a great job but it is tough to get an appointment with her. The people she hired are terrible. When I had my nails done for the holidays, a few of them cracked or broke right away. WHen the owner does them, there are no flaws at all!!! This salon is not near where I live, so I have to travel 25 minutes to get there. I could not make it back there when my nails broke.
What I need done: I have permanent french acrylic nail wraps and I have tried almost every place around. I might be willing to try UV gel. I do not want a place that will try to talk me into getting silk wraps. I want s place that does a great job on their wraps, the wraps don't crack or break, etc.
Sorry if this sounds elitist but I want either a native English speaker or someone whose English is excellent. I have had too many experiences with the nail tech not understanding me when I say, "please file them shorter" or "I would like the pink powder." These are are basic words related to her profession and she should understand them. I know that usually American nail techs charge more money. I do not want to pay double what I pay now but for a few dollars more, it is worth taking a break from the frustration. Sorry if this sounds snobby.
I prefer a place in the Smithtown area. Also, should I try Cactus and what are their prices for acrylic fill-ins (prices not on their website)?
