Re: Looking for a Vampire Series to read
The Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton. The first book in the series is Guilty Pleasures. There's 19 books in the series and they're easy reads. After about the second book I was hooked. The books are very detailed and involve vampires, zombies and s e x(very detailed, I just finished # 19 and the last 2 chapters were all about s e x ) Happy reading.

Re: Looking for a Vampire Series to read
I am reading the My Blood Approves series by Amanda Hocking at AngShaun's recommendation and I am loving it! It's Young Adult but still really a good, quick read. I'm on the 3rd book already.

Re: Looking for a Vampire Series to read
go for one of the originals
Anne Rice - Interview with a Vampire The Vampire Lestat The Queen of the Damned
I read those in high school and they got me hooked on all things vampire long before Twilight or True Blood were ever thought of

Yup! My mother credits (blames? ) Interview With a Vampire as the book that started my obsession. There are 9 books in The Vampire Chronicles....hmmm, maybe I'm going to go back and read them myself, I've only read a few of them.

I LOVED the first 3.. but felt that after that they started to get a bit far fetched. But i actually felt that way about a lot of Anne Rice's stuff. Her earlier writing is soo good, then she got super religious and her writing changed and imo it just wasn't as good. I may go back and read them now as well!
