DH and I are going to Excellence Playa Mujeras in Mexico. We got a 2-story rooftop terrace room with private pool on the roof for a sweet deal. It's all inclusive. We stayed at the Excelelnce Punta Cana in DR so I know this chain is nice. Def worth looking into.

How about Aruba. We went there 2 years ago and stayed at the Occidental.

I would say Aruba also for that time of year, but 10-days is a long time for a trip like that.
Ever consider Europe or if you like Wine, Napa Valley is great around that time and you can break it up with Vegas or San Diego.

Re: Looking to Book a 10 day trip in late September
Beth, we were always AI folks and we took a 10 day trip to San Fran, Napa, Sonoma and Big Sur.
it was the best vacation I have ever had. I will never forget it. it was the most romantic and fun out of all of our vacations.
Give it some thought. 10 days is a lot of time to stay in an all inclusive resort.
You can still sit by the pool some days and tan yourself and do nothing if you want.
It was some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. The drive up the pacific coast highway was spectacular.

Re: Looking to Book a 10 day trip in late September
we would do excursions on this trip
ATV
Boat
I do need to veg - we are both working 11 to 12 hour days this summer
so it's much needed
a casino would be nice too
I would want to be able to leave the resort and go into town for dinner and drinks too-
I was thinking mexico would be out best bet- I am just concerned about the weather
I went to cabo for 10 days- it was great-but I spent most of the time alone- I can only imagine how much fun I will have with some who shares interests with me!

It is, but I get cancel for any reason insurance so if a hurricane is headed that way I can quickly switch destinations.
Others mentioned Aruba. I think that's outside the hurricane belt. And you can def leave the resort and go into town for meals and drinks. AIs in Aruba are not great for food though from what I hear.

Re: Looking to Book a 10 day trip in late September
I think Aruba always has good weather.
Barbados, should be for that time of year too. They actually have a "weather guarantee" right now.
Not sure about All Inclusives there.
St. Lucia has a few all inclusives.
We went to both in early October & the weather was fine. Southern Carribean is better that time of year. I'm not sure about Mexico.

What about St. Thomas? You could break it up by spending a few nights on St. John or St. Croix.
Frenchman's Reef & Morningstar Marriot Resort (LINK) is AI but there are other hotels.. there's a Ritz on the island as well. It gorgeous there and during that time of year, it's not very crowded at all.
What about a cruise???

I would love too- but I would be concerned about my bar bill
we are drinkers which is why I love All Inclusives- drink gets warm- get another one no worries!
and the last cruise my sister went on- she managed to run up a $900 bar bill in 6 days

Re: Looking to Book a 10 day trip in late September
we went to Big Island at the end of Sept. it was perfect, not a lot of tourists on Big Island... I know that there is one all-inclusive on Big Island - Kona Village? I have to look it up...

Jamaica? Just make sure you take out insurance for all those places!
They have a new hotel, Grand Palladium. It is on sale now.

Re: Looking to Book a 10 day trip in late September
I jsut went to Grand Palladium in Montego Bay in April. Its a great hotel. My own complaint was that there was a lot of kids and families. I went with my mom, sister and aunt as a "girls getaway".
We went to Excellence Playa Murejes for our honeymoon and it was amazing! I recommend it to anyone!
