today is the day my dh begins to say goodbye to his close friend...
and what do you say to the person you love most when all he says is (in a voice almost like a little lost boy) "I can't believe I will never see him again...he was like my brother...I never thought I would be a pallbearer for him in our lives now...we had so many plans for this summer with the girls (his and our daughters)"? Its so weird to talk to someone one day and wish him a happy father's day and then 12 hours later get the call....its unimaginable....
My poor dh has been through so much in his life, and his poor friend's family has been through so much....we've worried for his friend during his tours overseas and then twice in the war in Iraq, plus the times he was on duty on li and then a tragic accident on the lie ends his life...a week after he turned 34....I have no words....this is still like a huge nigthmare we have not yet woken up from.....

there is really no way to make sense of these tragedies....keep his memory alive, talk to his daughter about him, be there for his wife and family

Jeez! It's impossible to make sense of such horrible news like that. I'm so sorry. My heart goes out to you, your DH & his friend's family.
