I personally noticed that there are a lot less multi-family homes for sale rather than single family home which we've noticed are on the rise for sale in our neighborhood.
I personally think this is not a good time. The market is so unpredictable that sellers with good homes will wait until they can sell it for a decent amount. The other homes that are on the market are iffy IMO. It really varies on personal situation. But the market and the economy is so shaky now, that to me at least it is time to lay low and see what happens.

ugh. we just do not have the money right now. i would love to be looking in this kind of market but we need at least a year and half.

We are in contract right now and are closing at the end of May. We were planning on waiting until after our wedding to buy a home but were scared that the prices were going to go up again. We found a brand new house with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths for a wonderful price and we couldn't beat it so we are taking the plunge !!

Hi Karina,
It is in E. Patchogue ! The same town I work in and Mike grew up in. We have had our eye on the house since it has been built but it finally came within our price range which we never expected :)

just saw this today while doing a search i was thinking the same question,
i want to start looking now because most people i know took at least a year to find the home they bought
dh want to wait probably another year, he's starting a new side business and wants to wait to see how it does which i understand,
prices aren't really my concern because in the area we want prices never went down
