Re: Looking to buy a new TV
We have a 46' Samsung LCD and LOVE it. We loved it so much that we got another 40' Samsung LCD for our bedroom. They are great TVs.

Re: Looking to buy a new TV
We love Samsung LCDs. We have one in our LR and another in our BR. It's the only TV we'll buy. We get all our TVs at PC Richards.
One thing I don't like about Samsung - that dang "Touch of Color" crap. I just want my TV to be black.

We have a 52" Sharp from Costco. The same tv at PC Richards was about $500 more.

Re: Looking to buy a new TV
If you have a membership to Costco they have a 50" LG Plasma 1080 for $850. It is one of the top rated TV's out there right now.
Sorry didn't see you said over 50" but this is a good deal too.

We have the 46" Sharp Aquos LED and LOVE IT. I highly recommend going LED instead of LCD or plasma. In my experience, the LCD TV's I've seen leave trails when you watch sports. Like trails behind the ball.
Plus, LED uses less energy and gives off less heat.

Re: Looking to buy a new TV
I have the Samsung LED in a 55'. Its AWESOME and everyone that watches it comments on how great the picture is.
We also have a 37 inch Sharp Aquos which is great but not as good as the LED.

Re: Looking to buy a new TV
We have a 58 inch Samsung Plasma and we just bought a 32 inch Samsung LCD for our bedroom. We bought them at PC Richards and we deal with a guy named George A. He's at the store in Greenvale. He is such a great guy! Very knowledgeable and gives great deals.

Re: Looking to buy a new TV
We bout two Samsungs LCD at PC Richard, a 46 inch for the LR and a 32 inch for the BR.
Side by side comparison, I like the picture on the Samsung better than Sony. I went shopping during football season, so used a football game to judge picture and color quality.

The problem with this statement is that TV's are not adjusted and calibrated at the store...they put them on a shelve and turn them on.
Everybody will have a preference because its what they are used to and have. All the brands out there are good as most of the key parts come from the some place in Japan and Korea.

I replaced Zenith and Sony TV's, had seen Samsung TV's in other people's homes, and did research before I bought the new units.
Calibrated or not, TV's are still side by side on a shelf and most people will make a decision by what they see. The Sonys were more expensive, yet the Samsungs had better pictures -> the football did not "drag" across the screen when tossed.
Almost two years later, I'm still glad I bout the Samsungs, looking to replace another older TV.
